ARTIST - MARTIN MAYO
“For
the past year I have been working in an inner city school system.
Simple
things that I have taken for granted seem unattainable for some
students brought up in this environment. I see the joy of reading
as a tool to fuel the imagination”.
Martin Mayo is a conceptual
artist. His illustrations appear regularly in the Washington Post,
The National Law Journal, The New Jersey Monthly, The Progressive,
Cornell Magazine, and Utne Reader. Martin is a graduate of the
prestigious
Parsons School of Design in New York City, receiving his Bachelor
of Fine Arts Degree. He is a member of the Graphic Artists Guild.
He lives in New Jersey with his wife (pre-k teacher) and twin boys.
“Martin has unique and beautiful illustrations. His line quality
and character style has a simple sophistication, which is what drew
me to his work. I especially love Martin’s calligraphy –
he has many different styles, all of which are like little works
of art!”
